Ti-Rite™ - The right way to tie your horse.

The Ti-Rite…..
- is great for kids--no more tying knots
- is great for horses who "pull back"
- works on all standard 5/8 inch lead ropes
- works on any round hitching rail
- is quick and easy to tie and untie
- will release quickly in an emergency
- lets more lead rope out if your horse falls or panics
- can be adjusted to control the release tension
- is made of durable, all-weather materials
- cannot be easily unfastened by the horse (unless your horse is Houdini)

How it Works

Below you will find instructions for using your Ti-Rite, as well as tips and suggestions, and ideas for other uses.

Basic Instructions

Detailed Instructions

The Ti-Rite (patent pending) is designed to replace the slip-knot. Basically, it attaches to your lead rope by means of a white hook-&-loop fastener (similar to VelcroTM). Once attached, it should be free to slide up and down your lead rope.

When you want to tie your horse, loop the lead rope one or more times over the hitching rail. As a guide, loop it as many times as you would normally if you were going to tie a slip knot. Instead of tying a slip knot, pass the loose end of the lead rope back along the Ti-Rite, and fasten it with the black hook-&-loop fastener, leaving the loose end hanging free. Then, slide the Ti-Rite until it buts up against the hitching rail (or a loop of lead rope). It's that simple.

Releasing the Ti-Rite is just as simple. Pull up on the outer wrap to release the black hook-&-loop, and your lead rope is untied. If you need to untie the Ti-Rite in an emergency (for example, your horse is pulling back violently on the lead rope) simply jerk down on the loose end of the lead rope, and the black hook-&-loop will automatically release. Practice this a few times first under non-emergency conditions.

One, Two or Three Loops?

The Ti-Rite is designed so that if your horse pulls back, the Ti-Rite will allow more lead rope to slip through. If you want your horse to be able to pull free easily, try one loop around the hitching rail. If you want your horse only to pull free if it panics or falls, try two loops. If you want to hold an elephant, try three loops. You can also control the release tension by how tightly you fasten the black hook-&-loop. Every lead rope and hitching rail is different. It is important to test your Ti-Rite, and make sure you have fastened it correctly for your particular horse and environment.

Tips and Suggestions

If you only do one loop over the hitching rail, try tying a knot in the end of your lead rope, to catch your horse "at the end of its tether".

Ideas for Other Uses

Use your Ti-Rite anywhere you would tie a slip-knot in your lead rope. Use it on the trail, during halter training, or in the cross-ties.

Also try using the Ti-Rite for hitching your boat, or any other use where you need to quickly fasten and unfasten a rope.
